Hyperhidrosis

Much or most of the spontaneous sweating in the hands, feet, and whole body can be reduced with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

You should experience a significant lessening of the spontaneous sweating with six acupuncture sessions and one month of Chinese herbs. Continuation of the therapy ensures additional and stable benefit. Total treatment is up to 3 months. The improved condition is stable thereafter.

Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating that is not related to exercise, heat, or other physiological factors. It can affect various areas of the body, including the armpits, palms, soles, face, and chest.

Causes:

  • Primary hyperhidrosis:
This is the most common type, where the underlying cause is unknown. It is believed to be related to an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which controls sweating.
  • Secondary hyperhidrosis:

This is caused by other underlying medical conditions, such as hormonal imbalances, certain medications, or neurological disorders.

Symptoms:

  • Excessive sweating that soaks through clothing or drips off the body
  • Sweating that occurs even in cool or non-sweating situations
  • Embarrassment and social anxiety
  • Skin irritation and infections
